Every pot that leaves this kitchen carries a family way of cooking: the slow roux, the holy trinity chopped by hand, the bread pulled warm from the oven. Recipes like these aren't measured so much as remembered.

That's the promise behind The REAL Creole Soul: no shortcuts, no boxes, no cans. Just honest Creole and Southern cooking, made from scratch and ready for you to take home.

Mission Statement

In the words of Chef Carroll Hawkins, Jr.

⚜

Creole Soul’s goal is not only to serve what we consider to be the hallmark of culinary creations. Our goal is also to provide the ultimate shock to the palate that transcends the mere necessity of eating. The Creole Soul taste experience will immerse one’s very soul in the culture and traditions that embody the precise essence of Louisiana cooking.

The strict adherence to distinguishing attributes, the painstaking and methodical task of choosing classic ingredients, and the meticulous and skillful preparation of the food is done with love, passion, and the willingness to continually provide the very best; that is the hallmark of Creole Soul’s commitment to excellence.

This authentic southern cuisine is comprised of family recipes created from select sourced ingredients. Born out of the ethnically diverse diaspora that created Southern Louisiana down home cooking, from the African slave to the displaced colonists from Acadiana, Canada.

The Creole Way

⚜

Creole cooking is a story told in a pot. French, African, Spanish, and Southern roots have been stirred together over generations in Louisiana kitchens. It takes patience, seasoning, and love.

We keep that tradition alive one dish at a time: red beans on a slow simmer, gumbo started with a hand-stirred roux, cornbread and loaves baked fresh, and desserts made the old way.
